We all like Google, because of its innovative ideas and its endless money bin. Now Salesforce on the other hand, is a web CRM product, has its bit of competitors and to add it all is almost on the verge of market reach due to saturation.
Now here comes the savior, Google launches its App Engine, kinda like a web application host. What does that have to do with Salesforce, well SF also is hosted CRM application, doesn’t it seem similar now. More on the scoop, Google likes everything to be on the web, so it is but obvious that Google will own all the data if all the applications it hosts are on the web. Salesforce already owns a lot of data, so when Google says its partnering with Salesforce to deliver its documents, gmail, apps through Salesforce, what do you hear….ding….dong…. continued.
Microsoft made a bid for Yahoo, Yahoo is not giving in, it ties up with Google for some search methodologies, only a small percent. Then Yahoo goes to AOL owned by Time Warner, things are still in the air.
Coming back to Google and Saleforce, both of them anounce the Google apps stuff for Salesforce on Friday April 11th. The same day the google apps tab is already in Saleforce. Quick and good work!!!. I am not finished yet, few months ago Marc Benioff of SF was out to try and sell SF out to anybody who would buy at a three fold price of the companies value. Nobody bought into it, now we see Google with its interest and its apps already in SF, ding….dong….. what to you see. Let me not make any wild guesses, but for all of you, we would not be surprised if Google announces the acquisition of Salesforce, it is truly in the making.
You might wonder why I wrote about Microsoft and Yahoo above, well with all these M&A’s (mergers and acquistions) going on I did not want that be left untouched. Talk about Blockbuster and CircuitCity, what a combination, thats for later….
The times are not far as I can see, that we would be sending our checks to one company, the same old days of Monopolies are coming back, hang tight.
